Fostering Education in the Coastal Bend Community

Citizens for Educational Excellence (CEE), a local [501 (c)(3)] non-profit education organization, serves as a catalyst for change by bringing people, information, and resources together to improve education in the Coastal Bend. Our goal is to foster an educational system where all children can exceed academic standards, continue onto postsecondary education and successfully enter the workforce.

CEE initially focused on the six public school districts in Corpus Christi (Calallen, Corpus Christi, Flour Bluff, London, Tuloso-Midway, and West Oso ISDs) by uniting local stakeholders and sponsoring community forums that addressed issues such as dropout prevention, high school reform, and teacher quality. CEE now leads and serves as the fiscal agent for Education to Employment Partners Regional P-16 Council, which serves all of Education Service Center Region 2, covering 11 counties, 42 school districts, and six postsecondary institutions.

CEE also established Coastal Compass Education and Career Resource Center, located in La Palmera Mall, and the Coastal Compass Mobile Center. Through partnerships with education, community, and workforce organizations, the Centers provide free education and career assistance to the public.

Through the support and involvement of community members, volunteers, and donors, our organization is able to help secure a brighter future for all area residents. Become an education champion by becoming more involved or donating to our programs.
