Through the generous time and support of our community, the Citizens for Educational Excellence is able to offer two major programs that benefit students, educators, business leaders and community members.  The programs help advance our mission to strengthen educational opportunities and build a stronger workforce. CoastalCompassCoastal Compass Education and Career Resource Center

Located at Corpus Christi's La Palmera Mall, Coastal Compass serves the public by providing information about education and career programs, certifications and job placement services.  Partnering organizations help support the Center and include City of Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi ISD, Corpus Christi Literacy Council, Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend, Del Mar College,  Education Service Center Region 2, Education to Employment Partners, Goodwill Industries of South Texas, Saint Leo University, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, University of the Incarnate Word, and Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend.  Advisors assist clients with information and resources ranging from adult literacy to higher education—all completely free of charge. Coastal Compass offers "Direction for Success" to students, adults, the unemployed, the underemployed, veterans, and those seeking to improve their quality of life by providing information related to:

  • Financial aid
  • Associate degrees
  • ESL Programs
  • Bachelor's and master's degrees

The Citizens for Educational Excellence (CEE) leads and serves as the fiscal agent for the regional P-16 council, Education to Employment Partners (E2E).  This partnership serves 11 counties, 42 school districts and several postsecondary institutions in the Coastal Bend.  E2E focuses on creating a continuum of education from pre-kindergarten through postsecondary education and careers.  E2E is supported through membership dues, donations, sponsorships, service fees, and grants.  Major projects include the following:

  • Ready for College and Career Conference for High School Seniors
  • Discover Your Direction:  Exploring Endorsement Conference for students in Grades 7-10
  • Education to Employment Conference for Counselors  & Educators
  • Leadership Luncheons
  • AVATAR (Academic Vertical Alliance Training and Renewal)/College Preparatory Courses
  • High School Internship Program
  • E2E Scholarship Program
